Monday, September 28

It feels like ages since I've posted on my blog. I have been so busy with my parents the past week that the only time I can take is posting new items. Especially since that includes the additional tasks of writing descriptions and photographing.

My parents are in their 80's and in fairly good health. Dad has slowed down a lot since his hip surgery 2 years ago. He walks with a cane most of the time. I'm so blessed to still have them with me. I talk with them every day and see them several times each week. The past couple of weeks they have had doctor appointments I've taken them to - just the normal checkups.

Here's a couple of new items I've posted and a sneak peak of one that will appear in the next day or so. I adore the wise owl earrings!

Till next time, Peace

Wednesday, September 16

I believe I mentioned creating a pair of earrings on my last post. If not, I am so excited about these earrings. They came out beautifully, and when I showed them to my daughter her reaction was 'where did you get those' and I just had to laugh. Silly girl, I don't buy jewelry!

Anyway, I let her know I used some of the 80's necklace chain I discovered to make them. I think I might have enough chain to make maybe 5 more pairs. They'd be neat bridal jewelry for a vintage style wedding. I'll have to get some better photos later today! I hope you all like them as much as I do! Here they are and till next time, Peace

Tuesday, September 15

I've accomplished some creative ideas on paper the past few days. I created one piece that I've been thinking about for a long time. A locket for Mommy! Isn't it just the perfect gift! Also, I made a pair of earrings from some of the vintage chain and a single Swarovski crystal. I hope to take the photos tomorrow and be able to show them off. I love creating something new with old supplies.

The weather is changing here, cooling off a lot in the evening. The leaves have a slight color change already! Autumn is such a colorful time of year! I love the browns, oranges, reds, pink & plum colors everywhere.

I'm still up in the air about the deal of the week/month idea. I don't think the other Etsians would mind links to their shops. Is there some sort of etiquette in the blog world to notify them? I could post that question in the forums and see what happens. Till next time, Peace

Thursday, September 10

Where does the time go??? It's been a week since I've visited the blogs. I have been creating some new pieces, and photographing, photographing. I am not a photographer! I managed to post several new pieces where I had some okay photos. I'm taking them in the natural outdoor lighting, but we've had cloudy days and it really shows. I have managed to accomplish the size issue and the photos are not huge anymore!

School started also. My daughter has all her core classes on the same day! I suppose that will prepare her for college in a few years. She doesn't have a problem with it and said it would help her combining the math/science topics. Her dream is a marine biologist studying dolphins and sea turtles. And she's the dissector! Remember in high school with your lab partner - there was 2 - one the dissector and one the ewww! I was the ewww!

I'm thinking about a "deal of the week or month" and pick a shop from etsy that is having a great sale. I have to see how easy it is to find shops that have a sale happening. In today's economy I'm sure it won't be too hard. Speaking of sales - I had a Labor Day sale going on and then changed it to Back to School. No bites as of yet, but a lot of lookers and that in itself makes me very happy!

Here's some photos of some items I've posted recently.

Till next time, Peace

Wednesday, September 2

School begins next week, is anyone ready? Summer just started and now its almost over. I am going to miss my daughter being home! I love the change of the seasons, the crispness in the Autumn air, leaves crunching, the smell of the fireplaces outside.

I created a few fall pieces in the past week and have a lot of others on paper I need to accomplish. I'll post the necklaces - I just love them! I've started breaking apart the vintage necklaces and drawing some designs. Creating new from old is exciting!

I accomplished the camera issue from last week. My images aren't as large as before. I have to find the time to photo the majority of my pieces again! Amazing what reading a manual can do for you! LOL

Till next time, Peace
