Sunday, December 13

My last post was Black Friday everyone. If you've been reading my blog - that is not unusual! Maybe with the new year I will blog more. I might even figure out how to accomplish some techy stuff! Or a super customer might just be willing to help an old lady! LOL

I have been so incredibly busy since then with my wonderful customers. I want to thank each and every one of you - and all future ones also. May you all be blessed with a happy holiday season! I hope you all keep checking back in my shop for new designs. I have several new designs I plan on introducing after the new year. I'm hoping to post a few new items this coming week. I'll give a sneak peek and if you see something you like and it's not listed - I'm a convo away! I love this 'mod flower' band I found. Of course like everything else it's nickel free. The persimmon flowers are so different too. I have black persimmon rings like the white shown, but they are difficult to photo. Peace everyone till next time, Michelle

Friday, November 27

Happy Holidays everyone! I hope you all aren't too stuffed from turkey day! Cute pun, huh? Thank you goes to all my wonderful customers and followers of my blog & twitter. I hope to blog more in the coming year. I need to work it in my schedule somehow!

It's Black Friday! I'm having some specials happening at the store this weekend. Free worldwide shipping through Cyber Monday is one special. Maybe I'll keep this one throughout the New Year. I'll think about it a bit more! I've marked down some items and created a special section for $20 and under items. The economy really hasn't recovered and I'm trying to help as much as anyone. Some other items I've been able to discount a bit are marked 'sale.' Also, I've created some affordable pieces for the holiday season. I have some additional ones I'm keeping a surprise for a bit! Look at the pics posted! As always, Till Next Time - Peace!

Tuesday, November 17

The nor'easter last week just about took all the leaves off the trees. We had a little back up of water in the backyard, nothing major. Down the street at Grandview Nature Preserve - under water as usual. Funny story - a high school boy has one of those high up trucks - he was charging $10 a person to take them to their house. You guessed it - he made a lot of money!

I'm still working my way through creating all my new pieces. I've listed a few more pieces and hopefully will be able to list every day. This 'snow bird' necklace was so much fun to create! Till nex time, Peace

Wednesday, November 11

We're in the middle of a nor'easter today. The wind is howling! News people are talking about power outages. Must be a slow news day!

I've listed a few new items, perfect for that holiday party or a nice evening out! Sparkling dangle earrings!

I have a lot more to list and am taking my time! How about a sneak peek? I found these jewels and had to have them! They are an opaque aqua, made in Japan after WWII, a slender pear shape. These would look nice with black for the winter. For the summer, very beachy looking!

Still no luck figuring out this video upload. We might have to enlist one of the computer wiz kids! Till next time, Peace

Tuesday, November 10

I've been missing in action the past few weeks trying to build up my inventory. Sales seem to be picking up, probably due to the upcoming holidays.

My daughter & I have been trying to figure out how to get a dvd to play so we could post it here. The last competition we attended there was a surprise performance from a level 5 group of cheerleaders. We wanted anyone who is interested to see this group - they are beyond awesome, performing some crazy moves! It's a DVD we purchased at the meet, so we'll keep trying to figure out how to get it to play on our system.

I've created and listed a lot of new items and I'm still working on more. The holidays are fast approaching & I'd like to have a nice variety of pieces for customers to choose that something special. Again I'd like to thank all my customers for supporting my shop & the handmade community! Till next time, Peace

First, I'd like to thank all my wonderful customers for supporting my work. I've been open just a few months & have had a great opening!

Wow, it's been a while since I've been able to log on. Family obligations, I've been able to take a bit of time to create, photo & post. Not many opportunities though so I take advantage when I can. Folks are slowing down a lot these days, Dad is very weak. I believe Mom is so tired taking care of Dad & worrying in general. Mom's in PT 3x weekly for a stiff neck. It's still painful after the exercises & I've said after a week or two it won't hurt so much.

Danielle's squad took 1st place in the Fall Cheer Fest at King's Dominion last weekend. They are an awesome group of cheerleaders! I'll post some photos of some things I've created. A sneak peak at a single pearl necklace. I think this will be a nice Christmas present for the one you love! Find it & let me know what you think!! Till next time, peace to all

Sunday, October 11

Great news! My daughter's team took 1st place in cheer competition today. Two meets in a row and the girls are ready for the big one next weekend! Keep your fingers crossed for them!

I've created a few new pieces this week and more to come. I haven't posted the ones I'm showing today. I used some vintage enamel jewels to create these earrings. They are vintage from the 60's. I went to an estate sale and the woman's daughter is a retired belly dancer! How cool is that? Anyway, I snapped up some chain from 60's necklaces but haven't created anything with those yet. Will try to write more this week. Till next time, Peace

Monday, October 5

I can't believe it's October already! The year has flown by, we haven't celebrated Halloween (Harvest Fest) or Thanksgiving and the stores are already marketing Christmas! Well, this part of the country has just about all the candy and decorations on the shelves. Imagine eating candy from October in December? We've had some warm days - did it melt partly on the trucks? Yea, fairly random thoughts! LOL

I've listed a some new items the past few days and figured I'd show some of them to you. I hadn't realized I was in a creating frenzy! One of these days I'll become a daily blogger and won't have to upload so many photos. I can't seem to log on daily or even every other day! Here you go and a sneak peak (on the right side) I might list maybe tomorrow. Till next time, Peace

Monday, September 28

It feels like ages since I've posted on my blog. I have been so busy with my parents the past week that the only time I can take is posting new items. Especially since that includes the additional tasks of writing descriptions and photographing.

My parents are in their 80's and in fairly good health. Dad has slowed down a lot since his hip surgery 2 years ago. He walks with a cane most of the time. I'm so blessed to still have them with me. I talk with them every day and see them several times each week. The past couple of weeks they have had doctor appointments I've taken them to - just the normal checkups.

Here's a couple of new items I've posted and a sneak peak of one that will appear in the next day or so. I adore the wise owl earrings!

Till next time, Peace

Wednesday, September 16

I believe I mentioned creating a pair of earrings on my last post. If not, I am so excited about these earrings. They came out beautifully, and when I showed them to my daughter her reaction was 'where did you get those' and I just had to laugh. Silly girl, I don't buy jewelry!

Anyway, I let her know I used some of the 80's necklace chain I discovered to make them. I think I might have enough chain to make maybe 5 more pairs. They'd be neat bridal jewelry for a vintage style wedding. I'll have to get some better photos later today! I hope you all like them as much as I do! Here they are and till next time, Peace

Tuesday, September 15

I've accomplished some creative ideas on paper the past few days. I created one piece that I've been thinking about for a long time. A locket for Mommy! Isn't it just the perfect gift! Also, I made a pair of earrings from some of the vintage chain and a single Swarovski crystal. I hope to take the photos tomorrow and be able to show them off. I love creating something new with old supplies.

The weather is changing here, cooling off a lot in the evening. The leaves have a slight color change already! Autumn is such a colorful time of year! I love the browns, oranges, reds, pink & plum colors everywhere.

I'm still up in the air about the deal of the week/month idea. I don't think the other Etsians would mind links to their shops. Is there some sort of etiquette in the blog world to notify them? I could post that question in the forums and see what happens. Till next time, Peace

Thursday, September 10

Where does the time go??? It's been a week since I've visited the blogs. I have been creating some new pieces, and photographing, photographing. I am not a photographer! I managed to post several new pieces where I had some okay photos. I'm taking them in the natural outdoor lighting, but we've had cloudy days and it really shows. I have managed to accomplish the size issue and the photos are not huge anymore!

School started also. My daughter has all her core classes on the same day! I suppose that will prepare her for college in a few years. She doesn't have a problem with it and said it would help her combining the math/science topics. Her dream is a marine biologist studying dolphins and sea turtles. And she's the dissector! Remember in high school with your lab partner - there was 2 - one the dissector and one the ewww! I was the ewww!

I'm thinking about a "deal of the week or month" and pick a shop from etsy that is having a great sale. I have to see how easy it is to find shops that have a sale happening. In today's economy I'm sure it won't be too hard. Speaking of sales - I had a Labor Day sale going on and then changed it to Back to School. No bites as of yet, but a lot of lookers and that in itself makes me very happy!

Here's some photos of some items I've posted recently.

Till next time, Peace

Wednesday, September 2

School begins next week, is anyone ready? Summer just started and now its almost over. I am going to miss my daughter being home! I love the change of the seasons, the crispness in the Autumn air, leaves crunching, the smell of the fireplaces outside.

I created a few fall pieces in the past week and have a lot of others on paper I need to accomplish. I'll post the necklaces - I just love them! I've started breaking apart the vintage necklaces and drawing some designs. Creating new from old is exciting!

I accomplished the camera issue from last week. My images aren't as large as before. I have to find the time to photo the majority of my pieces again! Amazing what reading a manual can do for you! LOL

Till next time, Peace

Friday, August 28

I've been wondering how to adjust my images I've been posting lately. They seem so large compared to other blogs and the ones in my shop look that way also. I need to play with this camera some more and see if there is a way to adjust the size. I have to admit I was never intended to be a photographer but I know there are a lot of people just like me, still learning! LOL

Since I'm so new to the blogging world - I figured I'd ask & see if someone can enlighten me. What is the purpose of the 'labels for this post' feature? Is it mainly a search function & if you don't use the tags, searching your site won't help? Kinda random thought!

I posted some new pieces this week and have seen an increase in views. I don't know if that has anything to do with signing up on google base or just plain old fashioned searching. Anyway, take a peak at my shop & look at the cameo necklace. It's a floral cameo, very different than the lady ones!

Went to the beach again this week. Humid, very humid! I found an interesting piece of sea glass - a great find really. I love beach combing looking for the glass! Till next time, Peace.

Monday, August 24

Today was very productive for me. I completed a couple of pieces I've been working on. I'll post a sneak preview for you. Comments welcome! :) The woodsy piece is very detailed with czech flowers and swarovski crystals. The peace bracelet is meant to be fun. Don't you love the disco ball? :) Flower power & groovy!! LOL

I took a snapshot of some of the vintage items I came across last week. There are some interesting pieces that I'm sure to use in a new design. I love the cameos I've been seeing recently.

Till next time, Peace.

Sunday, August 23

It's been a quiet weekend, a few thunderstorms from Hurricane Bill. The riptides were bad here and the beaches were closed for a while. They're open today for business.

I came across a stash of old necklaces, earrings & pins from the 80's. Some pretty neat stuff. I can tear apart the necklaces and use some of the pieces. I'm not sure about the earrings & pins though. I'm still thinking about all that will entail. I'm still busy creating some new items right now so that project will wait a bit.

Till next time, Peace

Thursday, August 20

It's so hot here! We went to the pool/beach at Ft. Monroe to cool off a bit. It was very refreshing. I had a nice walk on the beach with Mom. Dad lounged under the umbrella. Danielle brought a friend with her. They swam and tanned. Giggled. It's cute! All in all a great day! Suppose I should get some work done. Hopefully I can show a sneak peak soon! Till next time, Peace.

Wednesday, August 19th

I've been really busy adding items to the Etsy shop I've opened. On my second day I had a sale! I was so happy to see all my efforts are worth it. One never knows if what you're selling is what people want! I appreciate the support of my customers so much! I'm busy creating new items along with still posting. I'll post a sneak preview in the next day or so (need to take photos!) Till next time - Peace.
